How much will it cost to replace my windshield?

If you have a Florida insurance policy with full coverage, including comprehensive or glass coverage, your policy deductible will be waived for windshield replacement. This will result in absolutely no out of pocket expense for you.

I have a high deductible. What will my new auto glass replacement cost me out of pocket?

If I file a claim with my insurance company, will my rates increase?

Auto glass is covered under the comprehensive portion of your policy for accidents or events outside of your control. Because of this, you are not penalized for these auto glass claims, so your rates should not increase. In all of our years of experience in this industry, we have never heard of rates increasing for auto glass insurance claims.

Is it true that I can only get one free windshield per year?

No. This is a common myth that we hear frequently. Driving in Florida with a broken windshield is illegal and unsafe. Your windshield is an integral part of your vehicle’s safety system.

Per Florida Statute 627.7288 for Windshield Deductible requirements for insurance companies, your insurance company is required to not only waive your deductible for windshield replacement but, if you carry comprehensive insurance, they are required to replace the glass as many times as necessary.

My insurance company wants me to use Safelite but I do not want to. Do I get to choose who does my auto glass replacement?

You wouldn’t let your insurance company decide who your child’s pediatrician is. Don’t let your insurance company decide who repairs your vehicle. Your insurance company is required to let you choose your service provider.

If they refer you to a specific repair company, tell them you would prefer to work with Orange Blossom Auto Glass. They will dispatch the claim to us. Orange Blossom is a preferred provider for all insurers.

My windshield is scratched from my wipers. Can you remove those scratches?

Unfortunately, there is no effective, professional way to remove scratches from a windshield. When this happens, the windshield will need to be replaced. While most insurance claims are for broken windshields, we have seen insurance companies cover this type of damage.

Can you replace the windshield moulding or gasket around my windshield?

What is OEM glass?

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. This designation means that the glass manufacturer produces original auto glass for installation by the automobile manufacturer during the vehicle’s assembly.

Aftermarket glass is produced by a company that does not provide glass to the vehicle manufacturer. Aftermarket glass can differ from OEM glass in clarity, glass thickness, color, and fit.

Will I get OEM glass from Orange Blossom Auto Glass?

Yes, every auto glass part we install is OEM. There may be slight variations in the glass labeling, but all of our glass is provided by quality OEM glass manufacturers. If specific logos and imprints on the glass are required, we will gladly offer parts with these specifics.
